CANDI SEWU


Candi Sewu is a Buddhist temple located in the Prambanan temple complex (only a few hundred meters from the main temple Roro Jonggrang). Temple Sewu (thousand) is estimated at the time, built the kingdom of Mataram by Ancient king Rakai Panangkaran (746 - 784). Sewu temple complex is the largest Buddhist temple after the temple of Borobudur, the temple is a temple Jonggrang Roro figured Hindu.

According to local legend of the people, all this amounted to 999 temples and made by a figure called magic, Bandung Bondowoso only in one night only, as a prerequisite to be able to marry Roro Jonggrang goddess. However, it failed because it desires at the time of the morning dawn, the number was less than one.
